Damien Rice seems like ages ago

So last week my buddy Kim asked me to go and see Damien Rice in concert. It was the night before work discussed my blog with me and so I never got a chance to talk about it. The concert was great, chill music where you can sit and relax fully appreciating each message he is trying to convey and feeling the emotion in each strum of the guitar… however, the audience was awful. We’re listening to this guy who has such a great voice and amazing abilities on the guitar… but I had a hard time hearing him over the conversations going on behind me and the cell phone chatter. I was embarassed to be from Boston as people yelled out to the artist asking him questions while he tried to reveal some of the inspirations behind the lyrics in his songs. If there was anyway of telling him I loved the concert and the intimate setting where we saw him, I would… except I think he’s Tom Cruise short… here’s hoping Kim invites me again in September when he returns and double hopes that the same people won’t show up.

My New Mac.

Posted in Music, Technology at 10:20 pm by freebloggingwoman

I think I am going to become one of those people… the ones who think their computer is the best computer. The iPod is my favorite toy. Except when it conks out a 1/2 hour into my run. Yes, it happens more often than I’d like to admit, but it is still my favorite. So, I need a computer and I go out and buy a Mac. It’s cute and portable. HOWEVER, my big thing right now is that my music is all on my work PC. I spent a few years without a computer so now here I am paying the price. ALL of my music and yes all of the music that I MAY not have purchased on my own, has to be reloaded manually… this is going to be a problem. I’m going to have to burn cds to transfer my music. Well, not MY music, but the music I currently have on my PC. No wonder IT was pissed when I had them transfer it all when my laptop needed an upgrade at work. Opps.

So here I am now, loading all my music and learning just what I do have in my collection. Want to listen to angry women? I have enough of that to feed an entirely new revolution. Want country? I have Martina, Lorrie, Mary Chapin and, of course, the latest Gretchen Wilson. You want Floyd? Got that and more… and of course, I have almost every Dave Matthews and then the latest of John Mayer and the rest of the boys. Want 70′s ABBA? God, I’m an eclectic freak!

But, if it means a few less hours uploading music, I’m going to cut out some of this crap… but how can I drop John Denver? OK, I’ll put in the time.
